I'm bisexual and converted to christianity, though I avoid religion and other controversial subjects like the plague. I'm also mentally ill (C-PTSD) and am working on my recovery, it makes me wary of new people and I'm already very socially anxious, but I'm trying to work on it and be healthier.

Occupation; independently training individuals with Assistive Technology
Do you have any pets?? Unless my warmies count, no.
How long have you been online journaling? I've been on DW hit or miss for about a year I think, and I had a LiveJournal back in the day for a good 3 or 4 years.

Other fandoms: Not really.

How often do you update?: Admittedly, it's sporadic.

I have given up on journaling a lot in the past because I felt like I was writing to the void. Also, I'd like my space to be judgement free.
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: Nothing in particular. I'm just hoping to make friends and widen my DW circle.

Occupation: on disability. I don't work. I do write professionally & have been published in indie publications before..
Do you have any pets?? yes! 4 of them, 3 cats and 1 dog.
How long have you been online journaling? I just joined Dreamwidth this February for fan events, but only recently as of October began to use DW for personal journalling.
Why do you like online journaling? I like how private it can be while still giving me the ability to interact with others. I like how it gives me the ability to make connections with people that feel more genuine and personal than connections made on mainstream internet websites. Everyone is so nice!
What are some of your hobbies? Writing is my main hobby. I love poetry, fanfiction, fiction, short fiction, interactive art, creative nonfiction, stuff that doesn't really quite fit a label. I also love digital art, coding webpages, zinemaking, cartomancy, scrapbooking, and making really bad electronic music despite knowing nothing about music theory.
Favorite bands/artists: Bloc Party, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Soft Cell, Purity Ring, Poe, Fiona Apple, The Cure, rap in general (so many favs)
Favorite TV shows: The Orville, Babylon 5, Doom Patrol
Favorite movies: I Saw The TV Glow, Madagascar franchise, Ready or Not

Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: My journal is friends only but I'm not picky with who I give access to!
How often do you update?: at least every week
What do you want in an DW friend?: Someone who isn't judgemental over fiction/obsessed with enforcing purity culture over fictional characters. They're fiction, they're not real people, and I have some darker interests when it comes to fiction. I hope to find people who accept that. Also looking for someone who isn't bigoted, -ist, -phobic, someone who understands neurodivergence and plurality or at least isnt going to judge me for being different. If you fit those things, I'd love to talk to you!!
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: I love making connections on here and talking to others. :)

I love that you have cats haha <33 I have two myself.
I also like to make connections on DW and just talking to people on my friends list, that's what DW is for after all :D

Do you have any pets?? Tiamat, my black cat familiar (The babushka I adopted her from said she had healing powers because she was named [at the time] after St. Theodora.)
How long have you been online journaling? 20+ years! My LiveJournal is old enough to drink this year but I was on Diary-X and Xanga before that.
Why do you like online journaling? Online journaling has been part of my life for more than half of my life. I like the sense of intimacy and community with people who would otherwise be strangers, peeking into their lives and letting them look into mine.
What are some of your hobbies? I like to visit Shinto shrines and take pictures of my dolls. Lately I've been really into indie/ old school web design and I like to crochet, too. I'd like to get back into quilting someday. I've never met a craft I didn't want to at least try.
Favorite bands/artists: U2, MARINA, Bastille, Florence + The Machine… (I don't know. I have bad taste in music.)

Favorite movies: The Road to El Dorado, Thor: Ragnarok, Lilo & Stitch, The Last Unicorn, The Birdcage
Favorite books: His Dark Materials/The Book of Dust, The Lord of the Rings/The Silmarillion, The Rest of Us Just Live Here, a lot of picture books
Other fandoms: I'm not active in fandom.
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: 100% friends locked. (I don't use filters but if there's something you need me to tag/TW, let me know and I'll keep it under a cut.)
How often do you update?: 1-3 times/day, usually
What do you want in an DW friend?: I like some back-and-forth but I don't expect comments on every single entry or even very often. I'm not comfortable granting access to someone who doesn't grant access back.
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: I'm uncomfortable adding anyone younger than 21 years old. Thanks for understanding!

Why do you like online journaling? More space for thoughts, a slower pace, more connection, no algorithm.
What are some of your hobbies? Iconning, tarot, travel. I sometimes vid but never finish anything.
Favorite bands/artists: Still listening to loads of Ane Brun and Hannah Georgas. Some great albums this year (for me) have been Orla Gartland - Everybody Needs A Hero, Goat Girl - Below The Waste, WILLOW - Empathogen, Andrew Bird - Inside Problems, and Metric - Formentera II.
Favorite TV shows: Buffy, Community(unlit Troy left), and Sarah Connor Chronicles forever. Current shows: Wheel of Time (omg s3 release date announces tomorrow!!) I've enjoyed some of the Disney+ Marvel & Star Wars shows to varying degrees (come join in at
Favorite movies: Black Swan, Batman Returns, Annihilation, Galaxy Quest, Ronja Røverdatter. Two most recent movies that hit home were Dune 2 and Love Lies Bleeding.
Favorite books: Wheel of Time, Murderbot Diaries, Ancillary Justice, Queen's Thief, Steerswomen, Wayfarers.
Other fandoms: I do play games (PC/PS5/VR), and board games whenever my circle of friends will indulge me. Comics are great, but Amazon sort of bumped me out of my groove by shutting down Comixology.
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: 99% public.
How often do you update?: Varies greatly. Right now I'm doing #Rec-Cember, so updating daily.
What do you want in an DW friend?: Someone fannish, who likes to comment and post from time to time. Make fandom not war is a running motto of mine.

Never Gonna Run Around And Desert You.
Age/Location: 40/Germany.
Occupation: I am self-employed concerning tarot/cartomancy readings, horoscopes, numeroscopes, rune casting, etc. that I offer for my clients.
Do you have any pets?? Yes :3. Six cats and a dog.
How long have you been online journaling? Since 2001 (LJ - So for 23 years now), so... Since I was about 16 (I started one month before my 17th birthday)? I blame several friends of mine who started journaling on there, and honestly, I met a lot of lovely people this way!
Why do you like online journaling? I think it has the potential to make people feel less lonely in general, and to increase empathy for other people in general, because you get to see the world through their emotional lense either way. It is fascinating.
What are some of your hobbies? Making music and songwriting, listening to music, learning about topics I am interested in (music theory, musical instruments, all kinds of cultures around the world, animals (I especially love seals!), philosophy, spirituality, psychology in general, ...), dancing, creative writing, learning foreign languages, travelling, drawing, video games (As of recently, I am mainly into playing old-school games like Worms Armageddon or Rollercoaster Tycoon, and I now started playing Harvey's New Eyes, too.), ...
Favorite bands/artists: Oh, there are many. I listed a bunch in my profile info, but my absolute favourites are Közi and all of his projects - Dälle, E//+Z, Eve Of Destiny, Köziy & Sadiy, Malice Mizer, Vamquet, Xa-Vat, and ZIZ of course!
Favorite TV shows: Currently mainly Bob's Burgers, Spongebob Squarepants (I am late to the party, I know), Futurama, some old The Simpsons episodes, BBC Ghosts, Horrible Histories (at least the excerpts I saw from it thus far :D), etc.
Favorite movies: Labyrinth, Dead Poets Society, Inside Out, Bara No Konrei, Bram Stoker's Dracula, What We Do In The Shadows, Trainspotting, Interview With The Vampire, Encanto, Fight Club, Velvet Goldmine, Verte Aile, and Soul. But there are loads more still.
Favorite books: My absolute favourite of all time is probably "Living Out Loud" by Keri Smith (She is also responsible for Wreck This Journal, if anybody remembers.). I also really enjoyed "Steal Like An Artist" by Austin Kleon (I at least think this was his name...), "Your Head Is A Houseboat" by Campbell Walker, and all books Marianne Curley released. And all books by Dr Brian Weiss that I read thus far.
Other fandoms: Hm. As of now, I think this about sums it up.
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: Friends only. I used to write public entries, and there are still some entries that remain that, but as of the newer ones... Friends only.
How often do you update?: I try to do so at least once a week. Recently it has been more, though.
What do you want in an DW friend?: As long as you are kind-hearted, open-minded, and just overall true to who you are, I think we will get along well. I cannot stand people who live for being cruel to others, esp. in terms of racism, fascism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and animal cruelty.
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: I recently stumbled over the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" in alphabetical order, and I found this hilarious, to say the least. :P
Re: Never Gonna Run Around And Desert You.
I love your vibe overall and would love to be friends ♥. I wrote more about me in my own comment in this entry, but I've also made public on my journal my own intro post if you want to take a peek :3
Re: Never Gonna Run Around And Desert You.
We used to have a cat called Silvester once, too, btw. He was a kitten born to our female cat Minka on June 3rd, 1994, and was born around midnight. He was a really cute one, brown with black stripes (So a brown tabby, I think ^^.). I remember he was very fond of food... Back then, Minka had three boys (one grey tabby, one brown tabby, and one all-black) and three girls (one grey tabby, one calico, and one brown tabby). As for Malice Mizer and VK, this is one of my longest music loves of all time! I think Közi, Mana, and Kaya recently travelled to Chile and Mexico? I am not sure about Mexico, but Közi sang a song called "Dubi Dubi Da" at one of the events... *babbles*
I will add you in a minute. :)

Do you have any pets?? No.
How long have you been online journaling? Since 2009 (started on LJ)
Why do you like online journaling? *shrugs* It's fun sharing my icons with other people, I guess. I also like the anonymity of it.
What are some of your hobbies? Reading, writing, listening to music, making graphics, singing, origami, knitting, crochet, DIY, customizing my keyboard, etc.
Favorite bands/artists: Michelle Tumes, Hayley Westenra, Kuraki Mai, Relient K, For King & Country, Rebecca St. James, Oneul, etc.

How long have you been online journaling? Since 2003 on LJ. I witnessed much of that site's ups and downs and changes over the years that after everything I finally moved from LJ to DW in 2022.
Why do you like online journaling? It's the only space I feel most comfortable writing and expressing my thoughts without feeling scrutinized or fearing of being judged. I don't use social media, and I prefer the anonymity. It's also the platform I'm more familiar with. I like the sense of individualizing your own journal and having conversations with others that is confined to a single space rather than blasting it into a public void (aka any kind of algorithm forcing posts onto you). It's a self-curated space that is very lost nowadays among the online world.
What are some of your hobbies? Dance, swimming, organizing, writing, being a fangirl....
Favorite bands/artists: Evanescence, Sleep Token, Namie Amuro, Jolin Tsai, Dreamcatcher, Babymetal, Sunmi, XG, The Tech Thieves, Seulgi, Loreena McKennitt, DPR IAN, BIBI, just to name a few because I listen to a lot of music. I love discovering new artists and so I have quite an extensive list of favorite artists and bands.
Favorite TV shows: Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dark Angel, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Legend of the Seeker, Orphan Black, The Last Of Us, The Untamed, Word of Honor, Heaven Official's Blessing, Guardian, Meet You At The Blossom, Detective L, just to name a few from the top of my head (see more listed on my user profile).
Favorite movies: My favorite genre is horror so I tend to gravitate towards horror movies a lot. And a wide range of them, too, everything from slashers to psychological to splatter b-movie level kinds of horror.
Favorite books: The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VandeerMeer, Borne by Jeff VanderMeer, the Dune chronicles by Frank Herbert, Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, Out by Natsuo Kirino
Other fandoms: In recent years I've delved quite heavily into Asian dramas (cdramas, kdramas, jdramas, Thai dramas), so my current fandom obsessions tend to be related to those lately. I'm also quite into actual play TTRPG shows like Critical Role and Dimension 20, additionally Dropout.tv has been the best subscription decision I've made since most of their shows are creative and hilarious.
Is your journal friends only, partial, or public? Public aside from the occasional personal IRL posts.
How often do you update? As often as I can, at least once or twice a week.
What do you want in a DW friend? Someone who shares similar fannish interests that we can connect with (aka squee about), and who can engage with comments/conversations.
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: ❤

I looked at your profile and could see that we have some fandoms in common (Buffy, Gilmore girls, Vampire Diaries and Haven.
Same here with being a fangirl x) I talk about the shows/fandoms that I watch at times but it's mostly old shows. I haven't watched much of the more new stuff.
I would love to be friends? :-)
no subject
I don't mind if you only talk about older fandoms and haven't watched much newer stuff. I haven't really been that enamored with any new Western shows over recent years myself (they either don't interest me or get quickly cancelled before I get the chance to enjoy it, which has been quite discouraging tbh), but I tend to love talking about my older fandoms a lot. Some that I've recently been revisiting (ex: Gilmore Girls as of the last week, just sporadic episodes here and there).
So yes, friends. :)
no subject
I know right? they are so quick to cancel shows these days ugh! The only show that is still airing that I do watch is The Handmaid's tale :p
Oh Gilmore girls! love that show.
As for what I have been watching of old shows..it's shows like The O.C. and Skins (generation 3) I'm also watching One Tree Hill, I have watched these shows years ago but felt like watching again but with One Tree Hill, well I never finished it so doing that now :D
Then I started on X-files earlier this year and like it but it's going to take forever to go through all seasons but I will try to.

Age/Location: 39 (for another 12 days!) on the "Canadian" west coast
Occupation; I organize other people's stuff.
Do you have any pets?? No, but I do like to coo about my mom's goofy cats. Also, ghost cat has lived in this apartment way longer than I have. It mostly ignores the shit out of me.
How long have you been online journaling? Back after a decade-long hiatus. Was on LJ and Dreamwidth for about as long before then. Did a long stint on Twitter in between, until I left that behind two years ago too. Slowing down my pace lately and this has been a really sweet homecoming.
Why do you like online journaling? I think the potential for social contact and being witnessed (tm) is its own temptation, but I'm also way more consistent about this than I am paper and pen, and there's something about having a record of my life.
What are some of your hobbies? I'm struggling to have hobbies right now beyond singing in a choir, but I'd like to be doing more silly art therapy exercises again. I like to go for long walks under trees and have been reading a lot of non-fiction and general fiction lately. I also organize and get out into the streets whenever I can. We keep us safe and fed. Organizing probably isn't a hobby, but I'm gonna leave it there.
Favorite bands/artists: Musically, it's a lot of Yiddish folk music right now. In general, I like upbeat electro pop and rock pop, what I call bitchy femme music, and queer folk songs. Got into Chapell Roan recently.
Favorite TV shows: I'm not fannish anymore, so this question is just a getting to know you! Right now my tv tracking app reminds me to watch Abbott Elementary, Shrinking, Ghosts US, Next Level Chef, Star Trek shows, and Taskmaster.
Favorite movies: I don't watch a lot of movies, except when I'm home sick.
Favorite books: "The Truth About Stories" shook me up when I was 21, and most recently "Meet Me at the Gallery" was a slow, stunning read. Desperate for the Iron Widow sequel. I devour new Murderbot and Toby Daye books.
Other fandoms: I'm a BreadTube subscriber, and my bonafides are that I'm a Nebula subscriber. My must-watch channels include Jet Lag, F.D. Signifier, and the Try Guys (Still!!!)
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: Functionally friends-only these days
How often do you update?: As the mood strikes, but usually 1-3 times a week.
What do you want in an DW friend?: I want your sweet sweet comments. I'll leave you some too.

Name: Wobblegong
Alternatively: Wobbles/Wobs
Preoccupation: digital art, mostly fantasy stuff
Do you have any pets?? Nope! Which is odd given how much I like animals, but life can both zig and zag.
How long have you been online journaling? Someone set me up with a LiveJournal at the start of LJ's heyday and then I lurked and/or forgot about it for years. My Dreamwidth account went similarly.
Why do you like online journaling? Learning about other peoples' lives is so fascinating... I love in-person interaction too, of course, but the semi- or full anonymity of the internet leads to some (partial, but) deep views into others' lives. It's done a tremendous amount to broaden my thinking and horizons. And then sometimes I want to yell about mitten lobsters for 500 words and would you look at that, I have a journal which can hold so many cute wildlife photos.
What are some of your journal topics? Based on my most recent activity I tend to post at a novice/enthusiast level about:
I can promise I'm very wordy! As if this ad wasn't enough of a warning.
Favori– I am constitutionally incapable of picking favorites. Just let me rotate through my Top 40 chattering about them one by one.
Fandoms/groups/etc: I'm a furry, I was formerly active on cohost. 🌈 I'm not much of a fandom participant (unless you want to talk about Ergo Proxy (2006) in which case, hello!) but on reflection that's probably because I put all my energy of that type into Art Roleplaying Games.
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: Mostly public! The bulk of my words are misadventures in

or photosynthesizing sea slugs or so on. More personal things are friends-only but that's a tiny minority of posts. How often do you update?: Irregularly... I'm trying to post more reliably (2x/week would be great!) but the habit is not yet built.
What do you want in an DW friend?: Patience (I'm shy), a lot of parallel play, and posts about interests/hobbies/etc I do or do not know about!
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: Sea slugs of the genus Elysia don't just eat algae/etc, some can store the chloroplasts from their food in their own bodies and use it to photosynthesize! That's very weird and it's not clear how it works exactly. But somehow this is only the second weirdest fact about Elysia.

The weirdest fact about Elysia is their unique variant of autotomy: some of them can, if they decide to, chop their own heads off. Or rather, chop their bodies off and swim away as just a head, which then regrows an entirely new body over the next month or two.
Somehow this is completely fine and once they finish regrowing they seem to continue living their sea sluggy lives without any discernable hitch.
They don't do it terribly often; best guess is it's done to jettison all their parasites in one swoop. But there's been multiple recorded circumstances in laboratories so it's a very confirmed thing they can do. (And it's assumed this is related to the photosynthesizing thing, because how else do you live a month with no stomach, but still: seriously??)

Age/Location: 41/southwestern USA
Do you have any pets?? 5 cats!
How long have you been online journaling? Since the 90s. :o I had my own online journal back then, then moved to LJ when that came around, then moved to DW during the Great Purge.
Why do you like online journaling? I just like to ramble. Talking about my personal stuff helps me work through feelings and chronicle my life. Second to that I love talking about fandom stuff, so this is an outlet for that.
What are some of your hobbies? Reading/writing fanfic, making icons and other graphics (for tumblr specifically), overanalyzing tv shows, and ceramics.
Favorite bands/artists: Radiohead is my number one favorite. I listen to a lot so it'd be a really long list, but I listen to many genres from indie rock to synthwave to big band to electronic to pop, and more.
Favorite TV shows: The X-Files, Stargate SG-1/Atlantis, Law & Order Criminal Intent, Star Trek Voyager/Enterprise/TNG/Lower Decks, Jericho, Psych, Grimm, Fringe, Parks & Rec, Community, to name just a few. TV is one of my biggest loves!
Favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Contact, Jurassic Park, Annihilation, the MCU
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: A mix, most real life stuff is private and most fandom stuff is public.
How often do you update?: Infrequently, maybe 1-3 times a month.
What do you want in an DW friend?: Someone with low expectations tbh. I go through periods where I am absent from DW for a while, then I will come back and interact, then I disappear again. Real life unfortunately keeps me busy a lot.

How long have you been online journaling? since 2001 or 2002 it was back when LJ stilll had invite codes, I've been on DW since 2010(ish) and deleted my LJ sometime in 2013.
Why do you like online journaling? I can dump my thoughts out and post my fic, wallpapers, icons when I have those to share
What are some of your hobbies? writing fic, making icons, making wallpapers, running (still getting back into it after an ankle injury last winter), travelling, rugby league (going to games and watching on telly when I can't get to a game)
Favorite bands/artists: Far too many! I love music and listen to almost anything but my most played recently has been Fanning Dempsey National Park, BANKS, Something For Kate, Happy Hardcore (various DJs and production teams) and a playlist for an in-progress fic series.

How often do you update?: I post most days and I post my fic/walls/icons to

Age/Location: 33, Buenos Aires - Argentina.
Occupation: Paid Search Associate (I basically work at marketing, advertising in Google and Bing ads). Also a student, since I'm studying UX design.
Do you have any pets?? Yes! I have a 5 years-old tuxedo cat called Silvestre Guantes :)
How long have you been online journaling? I started online journaling on LiveJournal in 2006, so that's... 18 years counting 2024 :D
Why do you like online journaling? I love feeling like I have some sort of safe space to speak my mind and keep track of my life. I also love being friends with people over here for years and years and remember how much their lives changed through time.
What are some of your hobbies? Writing is my main hobby atm ♥. But I also love fashion, organizing, reading (mostly self-help, neuroscience and YA genres), and playing videogames (League of Legends, Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, and my latest obsession: Infinity Nikki).
Favorite bands/artists: I'm stuck in 2010 lol I love k-pop (my favorite boyband is SHINee), Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Linkin Park. But these days I mainly listen to ambient or cozy music - it's either a cozy playlist or lo-fi girl in the background every day :)
Favorite TV shows: RuPaul's Drag Race, The Bachelor (occasionally, if I like the cast), Arcane. I don't watch a love of TV these days tbh lol. I'm mostly an anime girl through and through.
Favorite movies: How to train your dragon, Narnia, Harry Potter, The Secret Garden, Alice in Wonderland (1999).
Favorite books: My favorite vary from time to time, but the ones I keep in my shelf as a physical copy have a special place in my heart: Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice.
Other fandoms: I'm not big into fandoms tbh! I guess I outgrew them in my late 20s.
Is your journal friends only, partial or public?: 100% friends only, with the exception of my intro post that you can take a look at here :)
How often do you update?: If nothing crazy happens in my life, once a week. But I want to try to update more often.
What do you want in an DW friend?: I guess my main thing is commenting. I read a lot of people but hardly ever any of them comment on my entries :( and it's not just a numbers thing, it's the fact that I like interaction, and if people seldom comment then... yeah. Ofc I don't expect someone to comment on every single one of my entries, but popping up once every 6 months it's like ???
Any closing words/quotes/pictures/gifs/anything else you'd like to add: Never forget to be kind <333.
